1 :
Departure from Nairobi for Mt
Kenya arriving for lunch. Afternoon
birding along the nearby forest
trails or wait for wildlife at
nearby saltlick. hope to see Olive
& Bronze napped pigeons, Silvery
Cheeked hornbills, Ruppels Robin
Chat, White-starred Forest Robin,
Mountain Greenbul, Stuhlmans sterling
and may be Vereaux Eagle .Overnight
at a Lodge.
Day 2:
An early breakfast, drive to slopes of Mt Kenya through numerous vegetation zones and onto 10,000 ft Afro- alpine moorland. Return on afternoon for bird walk along the river line forests. hope to see; Black duck, Hartulabs Turaco, Crowned hornbill, Paradise flycatchers and eight species of sunbirds Over night at a Lodge.
DAY 3 - 4:
Early morning departure over the Great Rift Valley onto on to Sosyambu wildlife sanctuary. Outstanding night game drives & nature/bird walks which is a truly memorable locality. Famous for flamingos, Pelicans
and water birds but equally rich in Narina Trogon, Arrow-marked Babbler and Red headed weaver ,Hildebrand's Francolin, Montane and Dusky Night jars. Full day visit to lake Nakuru National Park. Two overnights at a camp.
DAY 5-6
After a short drive north ,past hot springs of lake Bogoria and onto L. Baringo. Afternoon boat excursion to view Hippo, Crocodiles and water birds at close range.Dark Chanting Goshwak, Silverbird, Cliffchats, Jackson's and Yellow-billed hornbills, brown- tailed Rock Chat, Bristle-crowned Startling, Verreaux Eagle and Spotted Eagle Owl. Overnight at a lodge.
DAY 7-8:
Full day drive over Tugen hills ,through the Kerio valley and Serikwa plateau and finally to Kakamega forest, a rain forest with its flora and fauna fascinating. Specialities include Great Blue Turaco , Emerald Cuckoo ,Blue Headed Bee Eater,Black and White Casked Hornbill, Black-billed and Viellot's Black Weavers. Overnight at a Resort
DAY 9-12
: After breakfast drive past L.Victoria to The Maasai Mara Game Reseve, East Africa finest wildlife Park. All the Big Five ,Black Rhino ,Elephant ,Lion, Cheetah, Leopard ,Zebra, Wild beast, Heartbeast, Topi, Eland, Thompson and Grant Gazelles and many more along side Open -billed Storks, Temminck's Courser, Yellow-throated Sangrouse, Usambiro
Barbet and Denham's Bustard and many more. nature walks along side a Maasai guide. Four nights at a Camp.
DAY 13:
After morning game drive return to Nairobi arriving on afternoon to hotel of your choice and later you can do shopping. Dinner at Carnivore restaurant. END OF BIRD WILDERNESS
