23 Days Maasai Mara /Lake Nakuru /Samburu /Central Kenya

DAY 1
Pick up from your hotel and leave for Maasai Mara through the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon proceed to the park for game viewing returning to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2
Full day game viewing in a mini-bus with pop-up roof searching for the big five and other plains game. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

DAY 3
Spend the whole day with the Maasai people, grazing and learning how they leave. All meals at the campsite

DAY 4
Another whole day with the Maasais, grazing and learning how they leave. All meals at the campsite

DAY 5
Breakfast before departing for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in this park noted for its huge concentration of Birds. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.

DAY 6
After breakfast leave for Samburu Game Reserve arriving for lunch at the Camp. Afternoon game drive returning for dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

DAY 7
Full day game viewing in this game reserve known for its reticulated giraffes, grevy's zebra, Somalia ostrich and many leopards. All meals accommodation at the Campsite.

DAY 8
Spend the whole day with the Samburu people, grazing and learning how they leave. Samburu people are also pastrolists just like the Maasais. All meals at the campsite.

DAY 9
Another whole day with the Samburus, grazing and learning how they leave. All meals at the campsite

DAY 10 TO DAY 16
This day you will leave Samburu and drive to the Eastern province and stay with a family from the Meru tribe for 6 nights. You will learn their culture and their day to day live. The Merus from this area are small scale farmers. From this area you can even attempt to hike MT. Kenya through the Chogoria route.

DAY 17 TO DAY 21
You will drive to Central province where the biggest tribe in Kenya, The Kikuyus, live. You will stay with a family for 5 nights. With this family, you will learn how the Kikuyus spend their day to day live. You will visit and work with them in their gardens where at this time of the year, they will be growing maize, beans and other cash crops like coffee and tea.

DAY 22
Free day for shopping before being transfered to the airport for departure.
You will need to bring your sleeping bags.

  • Transportation in a custom safari minibus with pop-up roof ideal for game viewing and sight seeing.
  • Services of a trained and experienced English speaking driver/guide.
  • All meals provided while on safari.
  • Bottled water for use during the safari.
  • Park entry and gate fees.

Not included:

  • International air transportation to and from Nairobi.
  • Expenses of personal nature such as visas, travel baggage insurance, laundry, beverage, tips etc.
