Escarpment
The
Naivasha road emerges onto the lip
of the rift valley giving a westward
view nearly as good as from the
ngong hills but with the advantage
of being on the main road.
There is a choice
of naivasha road "old" or "new".
The earlier route (signposted b3
Narok) descends the escarpment with
some interesting twists and the
bottom is a chapel built by Italian
p.o.w's who built the road during
the World War II.
The new road, to
naivasha, frequently emerges onto
the escarpment edge with particularly
fine views overlooking longonot
and Lake Naivasha before a gradual
glide down into the rift.
