Shaba, a luxurious lodge set in the "Born
Free" country, where the glories of nature
are concentrated in this semi-desert oasis.
Spring water flows throughout the lodge to
form beautiful water cascades and sparkle
into the Uaso Nyiro river, the habitat for
crocodiles. Unique to this area are reticulated
giraffe, grevy's zebra, gerenuk, beisa oryx
and the somali ostrich. The area also hosts
lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos and leopards,
other big game and over 100 species of birds.
A total of 80 luxury thatch-roofed bedrooms,
all tastefully furnished with local materials
of Mazera Stone and timber offcut walls, face
the river with sumptuous bathrooms en-suite.
For ultimate luxury the lodge has a superior
suite with private jacuzzi and 4 junior suites
to complete the variety of accomodation offered.
Lodge facilities include an open air restaurant
overlooking the river, uniquely designed swimming
